2nd U 8 Blitz Date is Saturday 16th July.
3rd U 8 Blitz Date is Sunday 14th August.
The U 13 programme has finished its third week with 85 girls representing 24 Clubs having attended to-date. The next session will be a full County Blitz for all the girls on Saturday 11th June. Full details once Venue confirmed.
There will be a further 3 session with the Final Blitz day for the programme on Sunday 10th July.
25 Girls attended the Leinster Provincial Blitz on Sunday 15th. Despite little preparation for
the day the girls did reasionably well. Despite a difficult game against Kilkenny they were only 2 pts adrift of Dublin. In the next game against Offaly they did very well with a very comfortable win.
However in the Shield final we started poorly in the first half conceeding 2-3 to 1-0 and a rebound off the upright.
We did not start well. The second half however was more rewarding scoring 6 pts to 1- 1. A much better 15 mins and full of promise.
Since the Provincial Blitz the squad has had regular trainings and had two very promising pratice games on Saturday
At the moment there is no one in place to take the lead role for this group. Quite a few have been asked but
as of today there is no-one to willing to come forward.
As a Phase 1 County the programme can run from 21st May. The squad has a list of 6 Blitz’s to choose from ( end
of June to7th Aug) + our own. They would train once a week. The season finishes with an All Ireland Day on 13th
Aug. Our own inter County U 15 Blitz is on the 6th August.
All are asked to give serious consideration to taking on the squad. The big loosers will be the U 15
girls and possibly next years U 16 squad. Contact email@example.com or
firstname.lastname@example.org also 087 9861366
Well done to the squad on their win over Offaly in the Leinster Shield final. Their preperations continue for
the All Ireland series which starts after the exams.
Three Workshops have been run since 26th April. While in general they were reasonably well attended, one third
of the Clubs did not attend any of the Sessions. The evenings were very rewarding with Patrick, Brendan and David giving excellent presentations.Their
infectious air and personalities add to the sessions and it is wonderful that we can tap into such knowledge and ability. The
Workshops were excellent. Thanks to the lads and a special thanks to the Clubs for putting their facilities at our disposal.
Should there be enough interest we will run a ”First Whistle” course in early June. Would like
to have 15 -20 to do the Course. It would take 2 hours and will suit those that want to Referee Go Games. Please forward details to email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org
Plaese see attached list of Foundation Referee’s. With College exams finished most are now available for games. This group of Referee’s have completed their assessement together and it is hoped the Clubs will give them the opportunity to get games including pratice matches up to Minor Level or to the Level each Referee feels comfortable with.
We ask that they are given Respect and encourgement as they begin their Refereeing Career. It is very important for Club officials and team management to assist in the process. The group will also be assisted by Aiden O Brien, Justin Heffernan and Sean Whelan.
A Referees Course for all GAA Referees and current Referee’s will be held on Thursday 9th June at 9.00 pm in the IFA Centre Enniscorthy. It will take approximately one and half hours and is being given by a Referees Tutor. It is to go through the differance’s between Camogie and Gaa playing rules. It is free of charge and copies of the Camogie playing rules will be distributed on the night.
