U 8 Blitz’s.
The U8 blitz took place today on what started as a very dull and overcast morning. Even though heavy showers and rain seemed likely we were very fortunate to get through the day with nothing more than a strong wind.
Thanks to the massive effort put in by St Marys Rosslare, Geraldine , Eamon, Noel and all attending the day went off well with the Car park empty be 3.10 pm.
We must also thank the St Marys Rosslare and Kilmore U 16 girls for doing the refereeing and thank also the girls from the Co U 14 panel who assisted them. Well done to all.
A total of 32 teams took part with 365 girls playing. Looking forward to the next one in Davidstown Courtnacuddy on Sunday 16th July
U 10 & 12.
With the U 10 Mini League starting on the 14th June and the U 12’s out on the 12th June every good wish to the girls and hope they all enjoy their season.
This programme will commence after Feíle. Open to all girls born in 2004 and not on a County Panel. You can send in Names etc to Developmentofficer.wexford@ camogie.ie.
The girls have attended three Blitz’s to-date. Limerick in April and Rathleague, Portlaoise in May. Also they attended Mallow in Cork on the June Bank Holiday Monday. They reached the A final v Kilkenny and won the B shield v Dublin in Portlaoise. Well done to Aiobheann Mernagh who won the Wall Ball Challenge on the day.
Best of luck to Aoife O’Connor who will be representing Wexford at the All Ireland Feile skills competition this weekend & to Ciara Butler & Sarah Doyle who both represent Wexford at the Leinster Feile skills competition this weekend also.

The U 16 Panels have competed in the Leinster Championship winning the ”B” Shield Final and are waiting to play Dublin in the ”A” Final. Well done and good luck to all involved.

On Monday 27th March Wexford Camogie held a wall ball workshop in Rathnure GAA Complex. 27 coaches attended a very interesting & intense session given by John Burns of Waterford. Thanks to Rathnure & all those who attended. A special thanks to the Rathnure U18 & U16 girls & John for an excellant session.
A total of 23 people took part in the recent Foundation Course which was held in St.Ibars on Sunday 30th April. Thank you to all those attended & to Ger Gribben and Noel Wilson who faciliated the course on the day.
The programme will be launched after Féile. Any Foundation referee interested please send in details or contact developmentofficer.wexford@ camogie.ie.
Level 1 Coaching with Martin Fogarty.
An upskilling workshop was given by Martin Fogarty for Level 1 coaches on 29th March with 15 attending. A very worth while and informative evening.
Goal Keeping Programme.
The Goal keeping programme was run over 5 sessions with Mags D’arcy and David Heirty giving the lead sessions and Pat Redmond and Geraldine Curtis giving the training sessions. Thanks to all the Coaches, Marshalstowm, Glynn and Buffers Alley for all the assistance given and to those who attended. Again this proved to be a very interesting and popular series of workshops.
It is hoped to run another programme in the October – December period.
Feile workshop with Mary O Connor & Martin Fogarty
A well attended joint Camogie/Gaa workshop in preperation for Féile was held in Buffers Alley on Wed 10th May
Feile 1st Year Blitz.
As part of the School visits by an t-Uachtarán, Catherine Neary a 1st year school Blitz was held in the Centre of Excellence on 16th May. Four schools attended, Creagh College, Colaiste an Atha, Bridgetown and Colaiste Bríde. Thanks to girls from the Camogie 4 Teens for officiating and Eamon Curtis for the programmes. A sincere thanks to Catherine Neary for the time freely given to all the girls.

Girls from the 2016 Camogie 4 Teens have put together a number of events aimed at promoting Camogie and Féile.
