U16s defeat Offaly in All Ireland Championship

A very gusty Hollymount hosted the Round 2 match. Wexford took command early on as Nora Higgins had the ball in the Offaly net in the first play following the throw in. Wexford went 1-2 up before Offaly got three pointed frees in as many minutes. Anais Curran and Nora Higgins tagged on scores for Wexford before Offaly hit a fortuitous goal after an awkward bounce in theWexford goal mouth. Wexford held a slight advantage at halftime, 2-3 to 1-5.

Anais Curran pointed after good play from Sarah Harding Kenny and further points from Higgins (3), Lettie Whelan and Ella OConnor saw Wexford command a second half and win 2-9 to 1-5.

We wish Ciara Bridges well, Ciara received a blow to the head and was substituted as a precaution.
