Injury Prevention Programme

The Camogie Association’s Injury Prevention Programme

The Programme was developed in 2019 by the Association’s Player Welfare department, in collaboration with DCU and Siobhan O’Connor. The aim was to provide knowledge and awareness to players and coaches around the most common injuries sustained on the pitch.

The Injury Prevention Programme is documented through three videos, detailing the programme through different phases a player will encounter:

Injury Prevention Phase 1 (involves running, cutting and landing mechanics)

Injury Prevention Phase 2 (involves strength, plyometric and balance exercises)

Injury Prevention Phase 3 (involves sport specific agility and power exercises)
